Roots and Wings provides accredited practitioner training and education in Mindfulness Rooted Ecotherapy (IICT, CPD and IMMA accredited), Mindful Nature Pedagogy (CPD accredited) and EcoGem Therapy (IICT approved). Nature connection is a vital puzzle piece for human and planetary health and we want to help health and education professionals to integrate Nature Connection into their practice. Oftentimes ecotherapy approaches focus on Nature engagement outdoors. Many people are not able to access Nature in this way but need this vital connection nonetheless to maintain and support mental and physical health. We want to educate and guide professionals to integrate mindful, creative and multi-sensory Nature Connection into their practice, particularly for clients with restrictions.

Integration into Everyday Life
Let me introduce myself:
My name is Alex Koster and I am an educator, author, ecotherapist and holistic health practitioner. My original professional background is in education, but many years ago, due to my own struggles with mental and physical health issues, I became more and more interested in alternative approaches to health. Every area I studied seemed to eventually boil down one major common essence: the importance of Nature Connection on all levels of our lives. These modalities include Mindfulness, Transpersonal Psychology, Integrative Nutrition, Herbalism, Acupressure, Ecopsychology, Ecotherapy and various energy healing approaches. Extensive research, study and my own experiences, personal and professional have made me passionate about Nature Connection for human and planetary health. Recognising that everything is intricately connected and that we are Nature has made it clear that in order to have healthy humans on a healthy planet, the Nature element needs to be embedded into our everyday life throughout society.
From the perspective of the major challenges we are facing as Earth Citizens, we need to find ways to re-connect, protect and honour our home. Eco Anxiety has not yet been recognised by the DSM5, yet it is a firm symptomatic mental health care professionals need support with.
I would love to introduce you to our three training courses Mindfulness Rooted Ecotherapy (MRE), Mindful Nature Pedagogy and EcoGem Therapy.
